The best should only be good enough. That's why we are passionate and committed to producing high quality food at the best price we can possibly offer. Using local suppliers, we make sure the best produce in the Fens is used in our food.
We generally use Maris Piper potatoes which are, of course, famous for their crispy coating and soft, fluffy insides; creating the perfect chips. There are certain times of the year when Maris Pipers aren't available, or at their best. So we choose from other varieties of potato, many of which have been grown specifically to create a great tasting chip. Potatoes can change week by week, so Matthew personally tastes and selects the best ones available to ensure our chips are always at their best. Markies are usually the second preferred choice here at Fishtastic. All our potatoes are sourced locally from farms across the Fens.
We use 'frozen-at-sea' fish, which is filleted and frozen within four hours of being caught. This retains the full flavour and freshness of the fish. So whilst your fish will undoubtedly taste fantastic, you can also enjoy them with a clear conscience, assured in the knowledge that our fish has come from a sustainable source. We fry large Cod, Haddock, Rock and Plaice to order. Please ask any of our staff to have these especially cooked for you. We are also a proud member of the National Federation of Fish Friers.
To keep our food of the highest quality, we provide the best packaging for travelling by using corrugated boxes for our fish and chips. This keeps the product hot, looks more appetising and doesn't stick to the paper wrap.
